Desde AESTE consideramos intolerable la situación de abusos por parte de un director del centro de Las Rozas
Queremos mostrar nuestra más enérgica condena y denuncia ante este tipo de actuaciones por parte de personas sin escrúpulos, y que en absoluto representan a la gran mayoría de profesionales del sector.
Evitar este tipo de situaciones es fundamental para ofrecer un servicio de alta calidad asistencial, y por ello exigimos una mayor profesionalización del sector.
Ante los hechos producidos en una residencia de Las Rozas y tras la detención del director de ésta por estafar y drogar a los residentes, AESTE, Asociación de Empresas de Servicios para la Dependencia, lamenta lo sucedido y condena que se produzcan este tipo de situaciones.
Como representante del sector de los servicios para la dependencia, la Asociación defiende que la calidad asistencial y la excelencia en la gestión han de ser principios básicos para prestar la atención que requieren los mayores. En palabras de Jesús Cubero, Secretario General de AESTE “Este lunes entregamos una propuesta de trabajo al Secretario de Estado, donde los sindicatos y las empresas especificamos la necesidad de avanzar en la profesionalización del sector. Al igual que para trabajar con menores hace falta un certificado de penales, vemos necesario establecer un registro nacional mediante el cual podamos asegurar que este tipo de indeseables no puede trabajar jamás en un sector con personas mayores en situación de vulnerabilidad”.
Para evitar este tipo de situaciones es fundamental avanzar en la profesionalización del sector, así como establecer un registro de profesionales de ámbito nacional. Es importante contar con una mayor transparencia de todo el sistema de cuidados, una fuerte autorregulación del propio sector, y una mayor profesionalización y especialización del personal que trabaja diariamente en estos centros.
Para Jesús Cubero, secretario general de Aeste: “tenemos una política de TOLERANCIA CERO ante este tipo de comportamientos. El servicio que prestan las empresas que componen el sector de los servicios para la dependencia ha de ser excelente en toda su dimensión. Estos indeseables no representan en absoluto la gran labor que realizan los trabajadores y trabajadoras del sector, y debemos ser los primeros en solicitar su denuncia e impedir que puedan pisar de nuevo un centro de mayores”.
